The Ethiopian Space Science and Geospatial Institute (ESGI) has announced plans to launch its third Earth observation satellite by 2026. According to the institute, the new satellite will feature improved image quality compared to the two previous satellites, which have now reached the end of their operational lifespans. Ethiopia is collaborating with the Chinese government for the launch of this third Earth observation satellite, with Tesfaye Fufa, the executive director of the Satellite Monitoring Department at ESGI, confirming the development.
